Do you prescribe controlled substances?
When clinically appropriate, our psychiatric nurse practitioners may prescribe controlled substances as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, typically once multiple other treatment avenues have been unsuccessful. Not all patients or diagnoses are appropriate for controlled substance treatment, and prescribing decisions are made on an individual basis following a comprehensive evaluation.
Controlled substances require additional monitoring, regular follow-up appointments, and adherence to clinic policies regarding medication management and safety. Non-compliance with these policies may lead to discontinuation of medication at the provider's discretion.
